Capricorn is an astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Capricornus. Under the tropical zodiac, Capricorn is occupied by the Sun from December 22 to January 19, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from January 15 to February 12. The opposite sign to Capricorn is Cancer.
Capricorn is associated with the Greek myth of the goat Amalthea who provided the infant Zeus with milk. Zeus placed her in the sky to honor her (Catasterismi). Capricorn is also associated with the Saturn and the god Aristaeus.
Capricorn is the tenth sign of the Zodiac and is thought to be hardworking, loyal, kind, supportive, dependable and a serious character. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have an ambitious, modest, patient, tolerant, polite, responsible, stable, trustworthy, powerful, intellectual, dedicated, perspicacious, persistent , prudent, realistic, formal, methodical, disciplined, traditional, cautious, conventional, persevering, self-reliant, businesslike, career-oriented, authoritative, and conscientious. Capricorns are prone to ompetent status-seeking, demanding, insensitive, inhibited, saturnine, coldness, conservatism, pessimistic, materialism, possessiveness, controlling, aloofness, lack of emotional tolerance or depth, materialistic, narrow minded, vindictive, bitter, melancholy, and dullness.
Capricorns are taken to be born natural leaders hence they do not like being bossed around. They like to take control of the situation and having a relationship helps them to feel more secure. They tend to not let there feelings out and if upset can only tell on the inside.
Capricorn is often depicted as having the lower half of a fish. This is due to Capricorn’s antiquated classification as a Water sign (sea-goat), while modern astrology holds that Capricorn is indubitably an Earth sign.
