I’ve had boats for a long time and I thought I knew pretty much everything to look for in buying a new boat or even a used boat. Well, I found out I didn’t. Seems I forgot a lot of the things I used to know about boats and boating.
Insurance is a big one and so is the cost of the monthly payment. I’ll quite probably pay cash for my next boat so I don’t need to worry about boat financing. However it’s most times easier to get a new or used boat financed than it is a car. I don’t know why that is.
I had to laugh at the page about boat anchors. I have the same problem. I can find boat anchors all over the place but none of them seem to work as well in the water as they do on TV. I guess that’s normal hype but it’s irritating to think you found the best boating anchor available and then have it turn out to be a piece of crap that only works when it’s calm.
I learned a couple of things at that boating site and as long as I’ve had boats I didn’t expect to. You may learn something you didn’t know either so check it out when you have the time.
