Oil, dollars and speculators?
As I understand it, from what I’ve managed to piece together from various sources, the price of oil isn’t up because there isn’t enough of it but because speculators are driving the price up because the dollar is so weak.
Say what? Evidently all the things we heard about outdated refineries is wrong and they aren’t part of the problem, evidently there is plenty of oil and they are pumping about 30 million barrels per day, less than they could be. See, it ain’t our fault.
It ain’t the fault of the oil companies either, it’s those evil speculators that are causing all of our rising gas price problems. Uh huh. I got it, the evil speculators around the world are getting rich. Hmmm, I wonder how many of these evil speculators are friends of President Bush.
I’d also like a simple explanation of how and why the dollar was let get so weak as to wreck our own economy. Who’s stupidity is that? Sheesh, I thought we had experts to keep things like the dollar getting weak, from happening?
Now the govt will tell you there are several advantages to a weak dollar, the main one being we can export more goods because our goods become cheaper overseas. Exporting more goods means we have to create those goods.
The goods either have to be manufatured or grown. Hopefully we won’t be exporting anything that’s cheap here or it’s price will go up, here. Besides, everyone should know we can’t grow or manufacture any more than we are now.
We’ve tightened up on illegal aliens and places can’t find workers willing to do the job for the same price the illegals were doing the job. So prices rise yet again because you have to offer Americans more than minimum wage to get their hands dirty. After all, that’s why we needed the illegal aliens to begin with.
Lol, now we’re spending billions to keep out the very people we need in this country to live the life we’ve become accustomed to. It’s a damn good thing we let American corporations ship all the jobs overseas. Now we can all kick back and relax and let the govt. take care of us.
Oh, wait, it’s the govt that caused the problem. You really expect them to solve it?
What we should do is make it unpatriotic to use so much energy. It’s a security risk to have an economy that’s almost 100% based on the cheap importation of oil from nations that don’t like or trust us and some of them would like to do us harm.
WMD’s Bush said but it looks like the WMD’s are dollars and it looks a lot like the destruction is all on us. Now someone please explain to me how all of this happened?
Thank you very much.
