You can even use them for groceries and discount gas at Walmarts that sell gas. Here I get an extra 3 cents a gallon off by using a Walmart gift card. Problem is you can only use them at Walmart. There are tons of prepaid CC out there, as you know. It's getting harder and harder to live in the USA without having a credit card and the current financial crisis is making it even harder for people to get new credit cards so prepaid is the way to go as far as I'm concerned. The advantage is you can't overspend your limit so you have no fees for that and no interest payments because you are really using your own money.
