Night fishing walleyes and hunting pheasants in SD

Few people are thinking of night fishing now that it’s fall. More are thinking about hunting than are thinking about fishing but tht’s a big mistake. When fall comes the night fishing for walleyes is as good as it gets. Of course the hunting is great too.

Right now is the best time to go fishing for walleyes or hunting in South Dakota. The big walleyes are biting at night yet few people go night fishing for walleyes. They concentrate on hunting and forget all about fishing.

You can limit out on snow geese in a short time in the morning goose hunts, get a limit of pheasants in the afternoon and be back and eat by 4 PM and then you can go night fishing. There are few areas of the country where you can shoot game during the day and catch huge fish at night but Eastern SD is one of those areas.

I expect, what with the economy and gas prices being up there will be fewer people hunting this year or, for that matter, fishing either. Yet this is the best time for both and you are practically guaranteed limits of both fish and game.

If you don’t have anything better to do and you are a hunter or fisherman then you should check out the cost of a trip to SD to do both. Like I said, you can’t beat the pheasant and goose hunting nor can you beat the night fishing for walleyes.
