South Dakota goose hunting, duck and pheasant hunting

It’s fall in South Dakota nd the goose hunting is going to be great. The goose hunting season opens Sept 27th, 2008 and it’s looking like the hunting will be excellent again this year. Better than the goose hunting was last year for sure. Reports are coming in that there are tons of snow and blue geese in the Eastern South Dakota waterfowl flyway.

The pheasant hunting season in South Dakota starts Oct 18, 2008 and last until Jam 4, 2009. Pheasant hunting is also expected to be much better this year than it was last year and last year was a great year for hunters. There are a ton of pheasants in Eastern South Dakota and plenty of lodges for those interested in hunting. There’s also a ton of public land available for all you pheasant hunters.

Last but not leas is duck hunting in SD. The start and end dates for Eastern South Dakota duck hunting are the same as the goose hunting dates. There are already plenty of ducks and waterfolw around the Eastern part of the state and the people in the hunting forums expect this year to be as good or better than last year for duck hunting.

Enjoy your hunting trip and hopefully you get limits of every kind of waterfowl that you hunt. It’s fairly easy to get the 20 goose limit of snows and blues every day and that should give you enough so you can have goose a few times per month, all year long. Enjoy. ;)

I was just reading the South Dakota hunting forum and it seems the pheasant hunting is going pretty good. A lot of crops are still in the field and the guys in SD expect it to get even better after all the crops are in. It just concentrates the pheasants a little better and they don’t have all those acres of corn to hide in.

I talked to my cousin the other day and he said he’d seen flocks of pheasants that had at least 50 in them. I don’t know about you but to me that’s a dman big flock of pheasants.

If you plan on pheasant hunting this year nows the time to make your plans for SD as it will be snowing there before the end of the month. Then the real fun starts in December. Ice fishing.
