How can fixing our roads and bridges be wasteful? How can better education be wasteful? How can spending to make our country better be wasteful?

It seems if he money doesn’t go where the republicans want [...]]]> Only republicans could see the stimulus plan as wasteful. Probably because the money doesn’t go where they want it to go.

How can fixing our roads and bridges be wasteful? How can better education be wasteful? How can spending to make our country better be wasteful?

It seems if he money doesn’t go where the republicans want it to go, IMO that’s big business, then they don’t want to vote for it.

What the republicans want is more tax cuts. Tax cuts by themselves are not going to fix whats wrong with this country and as a MOF tax cuts and less govt are what got us into the mess we’re in now.

The small amounts of money tax cuts will put into the economy aren’t even worth talking about. What services are they going to cut next to make the tax cuts work. You can’t cut taxes without cutting spending.

We’ve cut spending so much our roads are falling apart. we’ve cut spending so much our bridges are falling down and killing people. We’ve cut spending so much out food supply is no longer safe. Heh, how many people have died from salmonella in the last 8 years.  Murder by Peanut is an interesting read.

Republicans say bah, who cares if the people are safe, cut their taxes anyway. Who cares if we have safe food, cut the regulators and inspectors and let the people die. Who care if we have good health care, let the peons pay for it with their tax cuts and if their children die for want of health care they should have provided better for their families.

They also said, hey, we care about the banks, here’s 350 BILLION for you to piss away as you want to and hey, thanks for all the big donations you made to us republicans. Yeah, let the banks buy jets and pay huge bonuses. It’s cool and we can’t even figure out how to make you account for the money and what you do with it. That’s okay tho, just give us another big pile of money next election.

Tax cuts, don’t fix roads, tax cuts don’t fix bridges, tax cuts don’t help education. What tax cuts do is help get republicans elected. What more tax cuts will do is kill more Americans with worse roads and bridges, worse health care, worse education and an even worse economy than we have now.

The stimulus bill does not take money out of the economy, it adds jobs which our economy sorely need and it makes us a better, stronger country that shows it cares about it’s people. Investing in energy development is going to create more jobs and make us less dependant on foreign countries, that don’t like us, for our energy needs. Developing alternative energy is going to make us a safer and more secure. Of course it costs money instead of just giving money to banks.

I guess it comes down to what do you want? A better country with better roads, bridges, health care, education and more people working, a safer and more secure country that is energy independent or do you want more deaths from bad bridges and salmonella. If you want more deaths vote against the stimulus bill. Of course all of this is just my opinion but it’s no dumber than some of those in Washington.
