The big switch, analog to digital TV

Are you as tired of hearing about the “Big Switch” as I am? Sheesh, is there anyone out there who doesn’t understand that TV is going to switch from analog to digital next month? If so what rock have they been living under.

Now it’s great that the govt is giving away coupons for converter boxes but it’s to bad they didn’t plan for the amount they needed. Now Obama wants to stop the switch because not everyone could get coupons for converter boxes.

Sheesh, it’s not like this hasn’t been coming for a couple of years now. I kinda see it much like the bank bailout. BS. Why should the rest of the country wait because a few people procrastinated and the govt has run out of coupons?

I don’t think the converter boxes are the issue at all. I think they should also have been giving out coupons for antennas that will recieve digital as well as they receive analog signals. IMO lots of people, even tho they have converter boxes, aren’t going to be able to see TV after the big switch.

Their antennas just aren’t good enough to get the signal. You can bet your butt that the antennas that do a better job of picking up the digital signal are going to be high priced. You can bet your butt that the rest of the country is going to have many more peoblems than Hawaii has with digital.

Oh, in case you didn’t know, Hawaii has already switched to digital and tons of people, up to 25% can’t get the signal. I suspect it will be as bad or worse here on the mainland. I don’t think Obama is worried about converter boxes I think he’s worried about the whole idea because it isn’t working as well as we were lead to believe it would work.

While the picture may be better than a good analog signal even a bad analog signal is better than no signal at all. However all the people with bad analog signals are going to be even worse off when the big switch takes place and it’s likely their current atennas will have to be scrapped as they will have no signal at all.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the govt. to hand out coupons for a better antenna that will work with digital. It ain’t gonna happen. The BIG SWITCH is starting to remind me of the BIG BAILOUT that did no good. Hmmm, I’ll have to look into who stands to benefit the most from the switch. 

We’re told it’s the people who are going to be better off but that’s not looking like it’s to true. Who’s big enough to get the govt to sponsor a program like this? How did they get the govt to sponsor it and who stands to make the most money from the switch. Must be billions incolved for someone or some company.
