Virtual games and the new virtual reality world.
A lot of people in this country seem to be living in virtual reality games rather than the real world. Now virtual worlds and virtual games are fine but not when they affect the real world. Had politicians not been living in a virtual game we might not be in the mess we’re in with the economy. They have their virtual world and we have our real world.
I don’t blame them for wanting to live in a virtual reality world tho. I would too, if I could. Virtual Reality is going to be so cool when we actually get to it instead of the pseudo virtual stuff we have now.
Virtual reality is going to be very interesting and be very, very addicting. Quite probably even more addictive than tobacco or heroin. MOF I expect the govt will ban it and, much like abortions, there will become a huge underground for real virtual reality.
Why wouldn’t it be addicting. You can have whatever you want whenever you want it. You will be able to have what almost everyone craves. Complete and total power over their own world and all the things and people in it. The only thing I wonder is whether these people will be any happier in their virtual world than they are in their real world.
Sex is going to be interesting and I expect, as usual where anything involving sexual pleasure is concerned, the porn industry will be leading by a long way in VR. They are about the only ones who can afford to do it because they can get away with charging ultra high prices and recoup their development costs quickly.
Imagine designing your own woman down to, uh, everything. Imagine just picking some starlet and there she is. Personality and all. You can pick just about any attribute you want from intelligence, temperament, type A, sexy, modest, pretty, big boobs, little boobs, hair color, size and shape of her butt, shaved or not shaved. Any little thing you can think of you can choose.
What with all of the attachments that are going to come with VR a lot of people are going to make fortunes. It’s going to be really cool and the porn people are going to get it first.
Later will come virtual reality tours which will seem real. Even better than 3D Imax. You won’t have to leave your chair to vacation anywhere in the world. You’ll be able to sit in on classes being taught in Rome or Peking. Your butt will even hurt after sitting listening to a lecture because those chairs are hard. OTOH this is VR so you should be able to get the exact chair you want. Me, I want a recliner.
The sex and violence aspects intrigue me the most. Imagine, in VR you can kill someone and they don’t really die. I’m betting we see a lot more violence in VR than happens in the Real World(RW). Lol, I wonder what psychologists are going to make of all the real, yet virtual, mayhem we commit on one another.
When VR advances far enough it will become a netwide game and I’m sure we’ll have camps of good and evil, just like we do now. However I don’t want to be a part of either of those camps, I want to be in the group that pulls the strings behind the scenes. Our mission would be to sow dissention between the other two groups so my group could profit from the problems and in effect, run the world the way we want to, and do it with no danger to ourselves. Hmmm, VR is seeming more RW all the time isn’t it.
Soon will be treating people for psychological symptoms related to their VR love lives and the guilt they feel over those they tortured, killed or maimed in VR. Lol hopefully their will be VR psychologists too. Even more, I hope they take VR money, which, btw, you should never run out of because it’s your VR.
Now I’m not talking about the state of things currently. We have what passes for VR but this is nothing compared to what’s going to be coming in the virtual reality area. Sure, you can take virtual tours now but in reality these are just flat screen movies called virtual for the extra bit of traffic they get from it. It’s not even a technically correct name for what they do.
Anyway, what I’m talking about is when you put on a suit and helmet that are haptic. With what I’m talking about you won’t be sitting on a chair looking at a computer screen like in what are called virtual worlds. You may have an avatar but it will be you, it will act and think like you do. It will want the same things you do and the VR will be able to provide all of those things.
Look at it this way, if you have to look at it at your desk, on your computer screen, it’s not virtual reality, it’s you pretending it’s virtual reality. What I’m talking about is not pretend. Your avatar, you, will actually be there and be seeing the sites there through your own eyes. No typing required, no mouse clicks required, nothing required but put on the suit and helmet and plug in.
Play all the virtual reality games you want in all the virtual worlds you want, I’ll continue to wait for the real thing rather than a poor pseudo virtual game.
